HOW DO LASERS WORK AND WHAT MAKES LASER LIGHT DIFFERENT FROM “ORDINARY” LIGHT, LIKE THE LIGHT FROM A FLASHLIGHT? AND WHAT DOES THE ACRONYM LASER MEAN?
MATERIALS:
Activity 1: Laser pointer, Flashlight, Meter stick, Ruler. Any type of flashlight (LED, incandescent) may be used as long as it produces “white” light.
Activity 2: Laser pointer, Flashlight and Recordable CD or purchased diffraction grating
Activity 3: Laser pointer, Flashlight and Piece of waxed paper
